Exporting custom props as Scene Subsets or Figure-Prop Assets

Hello everyone. I know i'm not the first one who asks this question, but i'd like to have some things clear in my mind. I would like to submit my first product for review to Daz and i'm a little bit lost :) so any help would be appreciated.

Well, i created some props in 3DS Max and imported them in Daz as objects. I wanted to export them as a set (in fact there are some letters composing alphabet), along with some shaders and other props i created. So i saved every object as Scene Subset in the Props/ProductName folder, every shader as Shader Preset, etc. Now, when i tried to create the final archive with usual folders (data, Props, Shaders, Runtime) i discovered that saving as subsets and shader presets did not created any files in Data/MyName/Product. Searching this forum i found that i should saved every object with Save As > Support Asset > Scene Asset. Indeed, doing that the Data folder populated correctly.

Now, the question is that: the files in Data folders are mandatory in this case, as long as i tested my own products on a different library (same PC) and all of them works well? I don't have another computer right now for better testing, but locally i found that the objects and shaders are loaded as i wanted to. So i don't know if those file in Data folder are needed for everything or just for morphs, characters, etc. It's just, it would take a lot of time to re-save every bit again, and may be not needed.

Same question for shaders. Did i saved them in the right way as Shader Presets (with the + sign in the appropriate folder) or i should Save As > Support Assets > Shader Definition Asset?

Please educate me, any help would be great :)

PS. Sorry if my english is not so good, it is not my native language.

You need to save the models as assets and include the assets in the product zip (it is possible to embed the models in a scene or scene subset, but that won't be accepted for the store as far as I know).

You should no need to save shader assets unless you created a custom shader that you wish to distribute - adjusting settings in the Surfaces pane requires only a shader or materials preset.

Thank you, Richard, i'll save them as assets. I thought that subsets are exactly

The shaders are created by me using maps and i wish to include them in the same package with the props, so i should save them as Shader Definition Assets and include all the files in one final .zip.

I think it's clear, so thanx again :)

Not unless theya re custom sahaders, in whichc ase you save the custom shader as an asset and prests for applying it. From your description you are chnaging the maps and values in the Surfaces pane - that needs only a materials preset, or a shader presets if you want to be able to apply the same settings to any selected surface.
