Working with Iray WetWorx

Great product but I'm a little confused about one facet. You need to parent the decal to the clothing for it to work, cool, got it. But the decal doesn't move with the parent item. For instance, the mustard stain I have on the shirt, I have to move it around the scene as the character moves. Is there a way to place it and make it stick? Not a huge deal if not, it would just same some adjustment time.

That's the nature of decals. They are parented to the item, but they do not necessarily follow morphs or other mesh movement. They will follow bone movements; if you attach it to, say, the forearm, it will follow the forearm bone movement. It is being projected onto the surface associated with the bone but it is not attached to the surface itself. Easy to adjust and reposition, but not a perfect solution for multiple poses or animation.

Layered images (LIE) are overlays onto surface textures and will follow movement of the mesh, but are subject to distortion, however that isn't always a bad thing, you might want it to follow the folding and stretching. LIE is slower to load because it has to composite the images before displaying them, and might require a mask and an image to get the right effect. The decal might just have the raw materials to make a LIE version instead, but might require a fair amount of adjusting size and position. But, again, you only need to do it once (and save it as a preset).

I've had the same problem with "look at my hair" in that the hair part works, but when I move the character, the hair stays in the same place. I gather such items are intended for the creation of stills and not animation.
