Using the installer?

Hey,
I have some questions about using the installer for DAZ content. I've been having problems figuring this out .. it seems the installer on works on stuff that you download and purchase through DAZ3D.com .. all very well and good but I've found some freebie content in DAZ format that I can't figure out how to install properly. I'm using this on a Mac.
I'm fine with adding a runtime library and using stuff through there but that's more for Poser format .. not sure what to do about DAZ formatted stuff. There doesn't seem to be any kind of 'Open File", or "Install from directory" option on the DAZ installer ... soooooo .. how's it work? Surely there's a way to install content properly?
I've tried doing this manually, dropping files in what seems like the right folders but I've not had much luck here. So, what's the options? Or can I not use DAZ formatted content in DAZ :P .. Other than things I've bought through the DAZ website.
Would appreciate any help here. Many thanks,
Scott

DAZ 3D content from Third Party sites needs all the Folders Merged to the My Library or My DAZ 3D Library folder, or your custom folder, to work properly. Just as a Poser content file needs Merged to your existing Runtime folder.
The DIM is only for DAZ 3D Content from DAZ 3D.
Ah I see. I've also seen that that's a problem on the Mac. Can you tell me what is the proper .. or best way to merge files into the DAZ 3D directory?
Again my thanks.
Hmm no merge on the Mac? Well you need to add the full folder to the proper folder path then...
Here is my Golden Rules Camera Prop for DAZ Studio.. in file list format...
Main File = My Library folders inside..
Camera
data
Readme's
Runtime
The Camera Folder has in it...
Golden Rules << This folder would be dropped (copied) to your My Library> Camera Folder.
In data you find...
jaderail << This folder would be dropped (copied) to your My Library> data folder.
The Readme's can go where you keep your Documents. It does not have to go into the content... any place you like works...
Readme's
in Runtime we find two folders so we must do one at a time...
Support << This one gets dropped or copied to your My Library>Runtime folder or the contents Copied to Support if one exists.
Textures this is a POSER runtime folder to hold other folders we need the Sub folders so we open it...
Golden Rules << this one gets dropped or copied to My Library>Runtime>Textures...
The example is each folder that exits in My Library should be opened, And the folder in the Free content that has a NEW name gets dropped (copied) to that same folder so you are Adding only the NEW folder to the Folder that is already there. Never replace one just Add the new ones, you may need to go deep in the My Library Paths but this will work.
