Where is the character preset I just saved? It's not under the Presets of the Shaping Tab.

I'm trying to load a character preset that I saved. But under the "Presets" part of "Shaping", there is nothing. Am I supposed to redirect where the Presets are loaded from? If so, how?

Are you looking in the Content Library or Smart Content? Only things with metadata will appear in Smart Content. Try looking in the Content Library instead. Did you pay attention to where you saved it when you filled out the save dialog? If you didin't specifically select the location, it probably defaulted to some folder like "Presets".  If you remember the name that you used, you can search your hard drive for that name and see if you can figure out what folder it is in.

I think this is the Presets tab of the Shaping pane, which shows very few files for me - certainly no character presets, and nor do I see any shapes from character sets. A Character preset should show up in the main category lists - Smart Content and the Content Library - under Figures.

If you go through the motions but do not actually save another file, you can take note of 'where' it was saved to. The program tends to remember the last location one saved anything to.

I'm not on my laptop right now, but in my copy of DS, the default save location was under "My Documents", but since I use DIM that saves everything under "Public > My Public Documents". So a quick fix for me was to cut and paste the file saved in the wrong directory to the correct one.

You might need to manually move your preset after you tracked it down. It will work fine, assuming you have all the required shapes installed.
