2 questions: how do I make the "products pane" wider, and how can I control tab clicks?

First question: the products pane on my GUI is very, very narrow (probably because I have fonts turned up.) I try to widen it but it always reverts to an extremely narrow sliver on the left hand side.

Second question: when I click a tab that's already open, it will "hide" that entire tab. How do I turn this feature off?

Both of these things have been driving me bonkers today.

See if you have other panes in the center dock along with Viewport -- if so, try removing them.  Some panes have a minimum size that blocks the side panes from being widened.
