3D Art Freebie Challenge-May 2020-"Flowers" -Main Thread Only
At the moment we all got to stay at home, so make your home your vacation spot with lots of flowers.
You have other ideas with flowers? Show us
The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.
This Freebie Challenge will end Thursday May 31th @ 23:59 Daz time.

@Linwelly - How should we count Holiday Freebies? I feel like I've seen them listed as "no count", but wanted to check
How do we count retexturing? Say we take a table model and throw a different woodgrain texture into the diffuse. Does that texture have to be counted as a paid or free asset, or is it a no count thing?
I think I saw this handled in another thread, but models we create ourselves are considered "no count?"

I'm generally not fond of "Dead Lady Art" but I thought I'd make an exception for this homage to the iconic painting by John Everett Millais.
Rendered in DAZ Studio.
The texture on the lower half of the gown were stretched out, so I re-rendered that part and combined the results in GIMP.

oO, I was away for a bit, I'll have to check up on that myself. I suppose we can handle them like the PC freebies, they are valid for the month they were offered for free? but don't put me on the spot yet, I'll come back to that.
I would say yes a new texture is an item that is either a freebie and can be counted as that or it is a paid for item. If you made things (model or texture) yourself it's a no count item, except for the case you made it publicly available as freebie, then it's a freebie.
@Hylas I will come back to yours tomorrow, to give you the go for the entries, But it's definitely a gorgous piece and the reference is awesome!

re XMas Freebies, my assumption is that if an item was originally offered for free, but is no longer available (for free or otherwise), it's a No Count?
ok here is from the first of the rules: For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. That means the month we're playing in (exception for PC freebies follows then) So whn you're thingking of holiday freebies I assume those from the x-mas freeebies offers. Those are either not free anymore or the are not even offered anymore. This woudl exclude those freebies from being counted but you could add them as a not counted item.
I know this is a bit hard since all those past time freebies can't be counted, but the idea of this is as well so that others can find cool items that can still be collected.

The pillows came from one of the 2019 xmas freebies, Day Bed. I couldn't find it in the store, and there's no link to a store page in my product library, so I'm assuming it's no longer available. If that counts as NC, let me know and I'll move it. Also, the decorative objects on the shelf'/headboard are my creations...as a last minute decision, I decided to offer a few of them to anyone here who wants them, so I guess that qualifies them as freebies instead of NC. Also, even though the flowers are freebies, the pots are all mine except for the soil texture. I used the texture that came with the hibiscus in all the pots.

Edit: I didn't really like the "sky" in my original render - it looked more like a blue wall and overly saturated. So, I tweaked the surface settings for the background image to make it a little softer and less jarring., then re-rendered the image. Better, I think?
