Made this virtual Tribute to DAZ with the Dancing Mascots in WebGL
What to expect a webgl iframe that takes about a minute to load from my blog that features a representation of DAZ and when you click the image a animation in 3d unfolds.

I made the tune & skybox, but most of you will recognize the rest.

What do ya'all think?

Explanation: When you click the link you see "DAZ3d" image on my site. Its not an Ad.. Click the "DAZ" iFrame that loads in this WebGL window to see animation. No worries no ad hooks or such on the link.

The project an evening and its fun! The virtual skydome, animation and music was made custom for the project using DAZ Store products. With DS and other free tools you could make this "virtual greeting card" on your blog too.

If anyone's interested we can use this read to to discuss the techniques used to pull it off.

I looked but after 2 minutes of staring at 'Loading textures, 4/99') I navigated away. Probably my end at fault.

I tried to see it, even enabled the site in FF's ad script blocker, still no go. There were a couple of more things i could enable, but both were ad/google related and i don't enable those.

Ugh - bummer. The webGL should work in all major browsers if its been updated in the last 6 months. There are 100 images so 4/99 means you would be waiting 300 more minutes - yilkes. Not sure why. The server is located in SoCali Sorry about that. I really appreciate the feedback. My internal loopback testing is not indicative of real-world experience so the comments are gold to me.

I didn't have any problems seeing it. I use Chrome. I can think of ways to use this on my website.

I tested in the default install of FireFox 21 and it works fine. I suppose conservative config settings may inhibit webgl. Not sure. A problem may be that i did enable a direct link to DAZ3d (http://daz3d.com) within the webgl app and wonder of cross-site linking may be the issue under high security browser settings.

Phew, glad it worked for somebody! How was performance?

All may use this, if DAZ has no objections with my creation. I made up the music so no copyright issue there. I can share the js code if you like, or you can scrape it from the server.

I really liked the fingering of that horn blower. Very smooth with cool music.

Is it sending only images or actual 3D data? The latter is not permitted under the DAZ 3D EULA I'm afraid.

Please examine the demonstration again, and you will see its constructed almost entirely of 2d renders projected to 3d planes. The animation is png sequence similar to animated gif. The 3d abstract effect is achieved by clever placement of the planes projecting the 2d textures sequence. To share this, only images and ,js is required. The js code that tells HTML5 canvas to display a 2d render from 3d embed data. In the "DAZ 3D Tribute" webgl demonstration, there is only geometry and UV data for the cubes and planes. While it could have included actual rigged figures, I specifically avoided this to demonstrate what amazing things can be achieved with Daz Studio.

However after some consideration before I continue to publish this or offer to share it I would fist seek DAZ 3D's nod of approval on the subject (DAZ) and use of homepage screenshot. It may be of value to affiliate sales program, and

For those who have websites and blogs, here is a direct link to the webgl so you can link from your site without my site's page template. http://3danimatedman.com/sites/all/media/webgl/daz3d_tribute/daz3d_webgl_tribute.html
