a couple of beginner questions

Hi !

I've just started to use DAZ (I'm a true beginner^^) and after going through the basic courses and tutorials, I decided to get started^^.

Here's one of my first renders. I used : Genesis 3 female, Magda assets from Renderosity, Let's go outfit, tatoo bundle for Genesis 3 female, Josina hair. I did not go for lights and background because I'm not skilled enough with DAZ yet. I think I got the skin, clothes and hair right. But as you can see I didn't get the tattoos right (they look almost washed off^^). I tried several things, with no success so far. I think there's also a problem with the face, I don't recognize Magda at all (a friend of mine told me I was maybe missing some morphs). Am I doing something wrong ?

I could really use some advice from you experts.

Thanks a lot.

If that the "Magda" you used? https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/magda-for-genesis-3/118820

If so, do you have G3F head morphs and body morphs installed? They're required if you want the character to look like the promo images.

Iray or 3Delight renders? Are you sure the materials you are using are for the render engine you are using?

    Thanks for quicks answers.

So : head and body morphs installed --> got Magda's face right^^

The tattoo pack is this one https://www.daz3d.com/tattoo-bundle

I did 1 more try with full 3Delight rendering --> tattoos render just fine. Here's my last try (Iray rendering) with a backpiece tattoo  from https://www.daz3d.com/inked-vol-8-for-genesis-3-female-s. Do not pay attention to the awful background I'm focused on getting her right first

The tattoo is rendering very light just like the others. I can't seem to geet it right.

Thanks in advance for your help

My guess would be that the translucency settings for the skin are what makes the tattoo "fade away".

Lowering the translucency might help, another option would be to modify the translucency map to add the tattoo to it (not sure if LIE would work for that or if you'd need to create an altered version of the map)
