This question may have been asked. I Googled this and spent hours trying to find something, but no one has direct info only tests and nothing specific.
Is it possible to export a BVH/FBX from iClone7/iClone3D Exchange into Daz3D 4.12 (and not have it to go haywire)?
If so, can someone please post their mapping data. I've tried mutliple times to map the information and it always fails. I've also tried to go from Daz3D->iClone7->Blender->Daz3D and that fails too.
I see people animating in Daz, but I want to use mocap data. So I need to clean the data and then import.
So is there anyway to do this withou, and if so, can you post your steps? iClone7->Daz3D (BVH/FBX)

I have never been able to do facial animation but can other animation
I use iC6 and 3DXchange 6 so things might be different
what I do is load the animation on the retargetted figure I am using
choose hip not root node on export
I tend to use Genesis 1 (not 2) as it works best and the animation imported as a BVH on genesis 1 once saved as a duf pose in DAZ studio will work on genesis 3 too
genesis 8 you just use pose controls to move in legs 6° and arms up 45°
Thanks for your imput. I'll try to put in on Genesis 2 or 1 as a test. But from iClone7 to Genesis 8, I can't get it to work.
One of the problems with G8 is that it uses separate "twist" bones that, well, do all the twisting, with the other arm/leg bones not supporting twist. iclone can apply "twist" to bones that don't support them. The result is that when you bring the BVH back into DS, the arms and legs can be all wrong, because that information gets lost. At one point, I was working on a BVH post-processor to fix that, but I've been distracted off onto "other stuff."
genesis 2 is a poor choice for using on any other figures
it won't work with genesis 3 without conversion using another utility
whereas genesis 1 will

If you ever finish your BVH importer, make sure you tell the world and put it up on the Daz Store because I'm sure you might make a few dollars with it. Right now I'd easily pay $20 to have it.
