Wow Cath, that is a godsend! I was just wondering this morning where to find good looking curly short hair for males. You read my mind LOL

I was thinking the same .. since there is nothing that will fit it so well especially Gianni as everything was looking like old granny wigs on him so decided to add this one as bonus with the beard .. what works also on M6
    but hey!!!!!!

    I have surprise

Hercules is a free set ! as long you purchase one of the previews one , the Armored Spartan or the 300 look a like you will get Hercules at no charge

that was my Surprise I mentioned before
DAZ store team is very busy so I guess I will distribute it early the same way I did with the Wizard add on

there is one more important item I am working on for the Hercules and will be ready and waiting for your spartan renders ( what will be the ticket for you to get the Hercules early at no charge )
so we will have some fun!

    :)

That is little I can give back on this moment to the supporters of my work
since you and others was very generous too so I can afford to do something back
and believe me or not I spend more time on Hercules than the other set .. you will see soon why :)

Hercules Hercules Hercules!!! hehehe What a nice surprise & great gift. Thank you Cath. Love the curly hair option, especially with the ability to hide partials for a short set. This is going to look amazing with "real light" ahem ;-)

    You welcome!!
well after I textured yesterday the top part I really did not like it , so I went today to make new Pectoral Armour
and new arms braces to go with it and now I am happy 100%
free or not , I like to do the stuff right way

the Free Hercules set will be more Leather and Cloth with small metal accents

Is the hair fiber or trans? New improvements look awesome hon!

I want to make something clear .. Fiber is something like Garibaldi or LAMH for DS it is only a plugin shader inside Zbrush that render hair based on the curves, once exported the Fiber curves are converted to geometry and have nothing to do with Fiber anymore .. just regular polygons geometry .. if you export OBJ from Garibaldi or LAMH is not Fiber right ? the same go's for Zbrush

Even my unshaven set or the beard is NOT fiber it never was , that are a cube or triangle geometries with a lot of loops manually deformed into ( looks like hair ) shape as I made my own Hair insert brush for the follicles ? right word ?

but back to your question ..
The curls are geometry only and the cape bellow is trans-mapped on the edges , render very fast with AO
I am thinking to split the curls into smaller sections

and also updated the CLUB to match the total look .. less barbarian lol
going to use the other one for some primitive folk in the future ;)

Good Lord! Where's Gerald Butler when you need him! The details are beautiful, I don't usually make ancient greek renders, maybe I use this for a museum.

some test of the hair settings 9 sec without Ao and 32 sec with AO
now the whole hair are semi trans-mapped

OK, rephrase the question... the hair started off as fiber mesh in ZBrush or Garibaldi (I think I remember you liking that at the time better than LAMH). Regardless, it looks great.

My beard that I made for my Pan figure I'm developing is all home made strands. Duplicate allot of them to make sections and then use the Move tool to bend them to the shape of the face. Very fun. Made something similar to other beard sets with sections that can be loaded so you get different looks from just a stach, soul patch, goatee, mutton chops and all loaded for full beard.

the hair are 2 side polygons , I use insert brush for inserting it where I want , do you remember the Helix ? I extracted one side poly side from that and used for the whole hair ..

here progress in texturing of the first part :)

    Looks great.

Question... Are there morphs to move the thigh pieces away from the legs a bit? I've noticed they look stuck to the legs a bit to much in certain poses hon!

    Thanks Guys and Gals

Richard .. slow down feller ... it is just texturing preview , I still have to edit the final morphs for M6 and Gianni
making the sides away from the figure will not change anything .. that why the final morphs will replace the automatic one you see right now
I am working on textures now .. and all details you see are actually modeled on the original model what was 12 million poly
would be good for HD morphs but it render to slow so I extracted all 3D maps what are accurate to 3D as much as possible .. my new way of doing stuff pushing it to max possible

I usually save my "leather that looks so good you can practically hear it squeak" description for Xurge3D's stuff, but you've really hit the mark with this one.

Last updates in progress and I guess the last day of work!
the non textured previews are 20 million poly models , just geometry no bump maps
and textured last one with Gianni are low poly with just diffuse, normal maps
