What Happened to My GPU Render Option?

I own a MacBook Pro running Catalina with an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB graphics card. I can no longer choose between CPU & GPU for my rendering. It only allows me the option for CPU. Does anyone know why and/or how to remedy this?

    Iray rendering has never been available on AMD gpus.

    It's the major problem mac user's face with iray.

    So, when I render in Iray, it's using the CPU? Is that why I no longer see the option?

    In answer to your question, it'll default to CPU rendering if a compatible Nvidia GPU isn't present.

    I'd be more interested to know which version you were running that even had that option.

    Can't remember a single version, since 4.5 that ever had the option to render via an AMD gpu.

    I'm not sure, it was a computer or two ago. I just noticed it b/c I was looking to speed up my sims.
