Importing Poser Heirarchy?

I need help.
I want to take a human shaped .obj and basically transfer the bones of a pre-existing model, like M3 or V4 into said model for some quick bone rigging so I can use that .obj and use the poses I have already and everything. But Daz 4 is an entirely new app for me (now that I've finally gotten around to using it. There's an option in the Figure Editor tab called "Import Poser Heirarchy" that seems like the best bet but it doesn't seem to work the way I think it does, or if it does I can't quite figure out how to get it to work.
... so... little help please? At least something to help me get in the right direction?

Try Copy from Selected Figure, with the donor selected, which is in the Figure Setup Pane option menu. then import your OBJ into the pane, drag it onto the hierarchy so it replaces the real figure's geometry, rename the figure using the fields in the hierarchy, check Modify Selected Figure at bottom-right of the pane and then click Apply. Of course this will work only if the figure is close in shape to the donor.
Well, here's what I want to do.
I want to transfer the V4 bones to this .obj I exported from XNALara, so I can parent a V4 head onto it and use it as a new costume for her. But it doesn't seem as easy as what you might've made it out to be.
Any tips? :/
Unfortunately for the fourth generation figures the mesh needs to be grouped to match V4 (approximately) as in legacy rigging a bone can affect only its own group and that of its parent (and its children will follow it as units, with no bending). You could do that with the Geometry Editor tool. You also need the mesh to match the shape of the zeroed figure fairly well - if parts are aligned differently then the transferred rig will not work.
I do have to point out, though, that models from games are not generally licensed for this kind of use.
