hi there... i want to make still image with a glas of water and don´t know how to do that
i didn´t find a tutorial or instruction for daz studio... nor for brush.... even though i think in zbrush it must be possible!?!
i found a tutorial for blende but this is too high for me... i am not use to blender and this tutorial is far beyond my skills
the glas is being filled around min 11.30
the software i have is daz studio 4.6 , zbrush, poser 2012,
the outcome should be an obj cause i wanna render in octane
any help would be appreciated
thanks
o.

Load a glass prop then go to create primitive and select a shape that would best fit the glass, apply shaders for glass and liquid. Then render. If you need an obj then you need to actually use or make an obj model.
Your example image is a Prop item that comes with the liquid already modeled into it. There are many such props in the sets sold here at DAZ 3D and on other sites. You may even find one on ShareCG for free if you hunt long enough.
Yup. I sell a set that comes with a "liquid for glass" prop that morphs (primitives often work but require the glass to be a true cylinder or cube inside, which glasses often are not).

If you'd like to do it in Blender, start from a cylinder primitive, subdivide it in edit mode, and then select only the lower vertices to smooth into a more rounded shape (and/or scale them, if putting it into a martini glass). You need to know basic Blender modeling techniques but you don't have to do all of that with Lux to get good results with an obj for DS. ShareCG will provide you with free water shaders to use on the resultant primitive.
Or, as Jaderail points out, there are free glasses with liquid in them on ShareCG. I'd do that first if you're not keen to learn Blender.
Hi,
here are some shapes: http://www.sharecg.com/v/25522/browse/5/3D-Model/Liquid
rk.
If you're rendering in DAZ Studio, you should consider these items: If you want refraction effects through the glass and the liquid, you need to set the Index of Refraction (IOR). The IOR of glass is about 1.52, depending on the type of glass. The IOR of water is 1.33. You will also need to turn up Raytrace bounces to see the refraction effects. Glass and liquid shaders will typically set IOR, but not the render settings. Note that raytrace bounces has nothing to do with raytraced shadows. These are separate controls. In order to get proper reflection and refraction effects on the water and the glass, you will probably need raytrace bounces set at 4. I believe the default is 2. Increasing raytrace bounces can result in longer render times.
This one is a good tutorial for it![](http://img.youtube.com/vi/1PoJ9vNfkrQ/0.jpg)
But I prefer SickleYield product.
Everyday Drinks has plenty of glasses and bottles with Tilt and Level morphs for the liquids. All the materials are already set up, but note that they're only Iray materials.
