Animating a 300 image render, right in the middle cuts out

Never had this problem before. Rendering out a 300 frame animation, and from frame 100 to 173 it just renders out nothing. Blank. Works fine prior to after that range. When I preview it, it looks fine. Any thoughts or idea or similar problems?

I haven't exactly, but...
My equiv was when my camera moved through a post in a panning scene, and saw a lot of black during a section of my frames.
The effect sounds very similar.
I assume that you would see that in a preview, but it'd be an easy check/verification. Maybe watch a preview of the animation from another camera/view and see if anything external is interfering. I've seen autokey animate things that I've moved in a scene because I forgot to move them while the framepointer was in frame 0. Dressers in a bedroom floating across the room during the animation...

I wish, but it is a singular figure and nothing else. And at frame 100 its not like something is slding in the way, it just like clicks off. everything fine up to frame 99, and then mysteriously resumes at 174. Tried restarting and renaming things, test rendering single frames within that time frame, nothing works.
that's pretty odd. do the 100 to 173 frames exist and are black, or are they simply not there - skipped?
Only other thing I can think of would be some animated camera or light setting. Makes no sense, but little about this makes sense...
Sounds like your debugging is spot on. Hope you figure it out and let us know if you do!

Hmmm ... just to help rule things out ... make a new camera and place it somewhere else - 45 or 90 degrees away from your current camera. Render a few frames from it and see if they are black or not. That would at least suggest if the problem is with your current camera or somewhere else.
