Shoe size

I almost every time having problems fitting Gen8f feet in the supposed fitting shoes : toenails are almost always protruding, does it is related to metatarsals ?

I'm speaking of formal pointy shoes, with sneakers it's sometime possible to make toes invisible.

It's even worse with socks added.

I don't know any lady going out with toes out and socks/pantyhose protruding

Is there a simple work around ?

Thanks

You should be able to make the toes invisible by selecting them from the scene tab even if you can't physically mouse-select them.

Also in the scene tab, there will be a dropdown sock sub-set incliding toes which can been made invisible.

If all else fails you could do a spot render with toes/socks invisible and clone-brush out the producing areas. Or push them in with mesh-grabber before you render.

Thanks I will try with mesgrabber.

Here's the kind of problem I have

If I hide pinkie and big toe it's exacly the same.

I applied the pose setting provided by the shoes

Is that a default G8F or did you use other characters and morphs?

It's an HD character with morphs. I will try with generic G8F.

So the character is wearing pantyhose and pointy shoes, and the hose and/or the feet are poking through the shoes?

    Things to try include...

    • Making parts of the feet invisible
    • Posing the toes so they squeeze together more. You may need to turn limits off so you can bend them in sufficiently. You could also try adjusting their scale slightly.
    • Increase the scale of the shoes, so they are bigger. Another way to do this is add a push modifier to them.
    • If they don't have one already, add a smoothing modifier to the shoes (Edit > Object > Geometry > Add Smoothing Modifier...), this will give you a "Mesh Smoothing" section in the parameters pane. By default, the collision item will be the character, but if you change it to be the pantyhose it will try to fit the shoes around that instead.
    • If all else fails, hide the feet and the hose entirely and do a spot render of the empty shoes. you can then use this in post to paint out the poke through: In a graphics program, put the empty shoe picture in a layer below the main render, then erase any poke through from the top layer and allow the other to show through.

Also check through the folder for a pose preset. Several PAs include a pose preset for the feet, for their shoes.

The idea of turning limits off is an excellent one, I must have tried this at first (a "blonde moment, even if I'm almost bald ...

    Thank you
