Her beautiful smile....

Hi,

I could not resist "Margot" and invited her in my Library. She is beautiful. And also beautiful is her smile on the promo images. In the "Additional Products used in Promo Images: " is listed "20 Unique Smiles for Genesis 8 Female" but.... these smiles are all open smiles. Is this beautiful smile with closed lipps creatable with this product? Or how? I don't have the 20 unique smiles but I adore hers.... so.... How?

Thank you and best wishes!

I don't own either product (yet, they're both on my wish list for when I have a bit more spending money) - but you could probably dial one of the Unique Smiles in partially and then dial in "Mouth Closed" to get a similar closed-mouth smile (again, just guessing here).

Yes, I had that thought too. I hope somebody, who has the 20 smiles can check this ;)

I don't own Margot but I have the 20 smiles for both male and female and this works just fine! They blend super well with other expressions in general, in my experience. Really fantastic products.

Here's the first smile dial at 50% with mouth closed at 40% for another example.

I actually overlooked these sets when they first came out because from the promos they looked more extreme than the expressions I usually use. Then I picked up the male version because I needed extreme smiles for fanart of the Joker and after playing with it for ten minutes immediately went and grabbed the female version.

Outstanding render, plasma_ring!  Very nicely done in many, and various aspects.  Respect!

I have those products and I'm almost certain it is a combination of these three products (in my opinion but maybe Virtual_Worlds will visit the thread & tell us):

    1) D.Master AFE for G8F

    2) AFE HD Expressions (Closed Smile HD)

    3) DO Head Morphs for G8F (the Cheek / Dimples / Mouth Corners Front/Back morphs - you have to look at a real picture you like and adjust those as desired and after that sometimes ever so slightly adjust in PowerPose - carefully, it's easy to over do in in PowerPose)

Of course the "20 Smiles" can give you other starting points. You need to, when you see a real picture of a real smile, look at the possibilites in those products to match that most easily. It's much easier to visualize if you have a top-notch nVidia GPU and can see right away in one of the viewports via iRay Preview as the Texture Shaded is a bit deceptive in how the actual smile will wind up looking.

I did feel in love with that products too...

If we could get one day real Androids I would love to have one looking like her :D (making Androids from 3D Chars would be interesting... and a way to use the created Products again).

She is wonderful! I will buy her definitly soon :)

But I am also a bit afraid... WILL she look like on the promos in my Studio? or.. is that just possible because of special lights and stuff I don't see?

I have the feeling that some chars looks in the store much better as in my Engine, but I also know that Light can give a very different input into every scene, it can changes sooo much!

This looks great! The product has been in my wishlist for a while and had I seen this when it was on sale I definitely would have gotten it. Too bad this isn't part of the official promos- this does an excellent job of showing off the more subtle side of that pack :)

Hello to everybody.  First of all, I would like to thank you for your support to my new character Margot and thank you to Divamakeup and plasma-ring for their explanations and samples because that was exactly what I did.

For Margot's smile I only used the product https://www.daz3d.com/20-unique-smiles-hd-for-genesis-8-females (which is excellent and I love it) and Daz's expressions https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-female-expressions.

Below you will find screenshots showing the values for the different dials for some of the smiles.

As an additional note I will add that the lights in most of the renders are a mix of the HDRIs from https://www.daz3d.com/pro-studio-hdr-lighting-system and the lights from https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/paper-tigers-quick-hdri-lighting/129173/

I also used the Head/portrait cameras that come with the Pro-Studio Lights and the HQ Render preset that comes with the Quick Lights.

Edited to add that sometimes I use the Head/portrait cameras that come with some of the MEC4D HDR lights, they are also excellent.

I always turn on the Iray viewport while I play with the expression dials and specially when I am setting the lights.

Here there is a 3rd image.  I need to find the scene for the brunette render, I don't remembe the name that I gave to that scene and I have dozen of scenes saved.

    Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I added a new morph dial to change the shape of Margot's eyes that is identified as Margot Sleepy Eyes, also, the length of the eyelashes in promos was controlled by the morphs dials included in my product https://www.daz3d.com/great-lashes-for-genesis-8-female-s (optional)

I received a request to see Margot without Victoria 8's morphs. With JUJU's permission I would like to use this thread to show you the differences for the benefit of all who are also wondering how much Victoria 8 influences the appearance of Margot.

Victoria 8 morphs mostly affect her body shape, and only slightly, her face shape. Here's the comparison.

Well the right image is just unsharp xD but thats not based on the char :D

Maybe you scrolled and that changed the focus :)

Sorry, I didn't let the render finish, just wanted to answer the question that I received about the shape. Without V8, the face is a bit wider.

I love this character - she has lots of erm, uh, character.  :)

Here I was just doing some of my own things, mainly to show that you don't need to know the exact details of the promos - you will still get GREAT results.

    Two thumbs up!
