Genesis Iterations in DAZ Studio

Over the years I have collected several assets for Genesis, Genesis 2 and Genesis 3. I notice however, after installing DAZ Studio 4.12.1.117, that only Genesis 8 Male and Female character meshes are on offer. Does this mean that assets like School Uniforms for Genesis Justin, Genesis Evolution Shapes, Aiko 5, G2F and G2M Head & Body Morphs, Waitress Unfiorm for G2F, Tuxedo for G2M, and Wrap Dress for G3F are obsolete and cannot be used? I recall seeing somewhere that Genesis 8 was backward-compatible with all previous Genesis iterations. Can someone confirm that please? Thank you very much.
(If this is a stupid question, please be patient. Rumor has it that I'm a stupid man.)

All versions of Genesis are still available for free with DS, and items for them can still be used with those figures.
Clothes made for the older Genesis figures can be autofitted to Genesis 8 figures. Morphs or characters require conversion though.
Was this an upgrade to the version of DS you had installed? Does the Content Directory Manager no longer point to the correct content location?
Thanks for yours Fixmypcmike and Leana. Your comments are appreciated.
I have just now updated the DIM and re-installed DAZ Studio. The About DAZ Studio menu indicates DAZ Studio 4.12.1.117. The only character meshes displayed under Files > Figures (Hollywood Layout) are Genesis 8 Basic Female, Genesis 8 Basic Male, Genesis 8 Female Dev Load, and Genesis 8 Basic Male Dev. I can find no other Genesis figures. The Content Directory Manager points to Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library, which is as it should do if I'm not mistaken. I'm stumped. I should have all four iterations.
If you look in Content Library > Daz Studio Formats > People, do you see subfolders for the different generations?
Thanks again, Fixmypcmike. The answer is no, I'm afraid. However, under Install, I was able to locate Genesis Starter Essentials and Genesis 2 Starter Essentials. They are cooking now. All should be well. Someone told me that DAZ Studio would be a bit of a challenge, and they were right. Never the less, I'm beginning to warm to it. Thanks again for your help.
