Anyone have experience with this?  How is it - does it work? This would be about $500 including the Kinect V2.

Alternative:

Faceware Realtime is $1500 (now half price at $800) just for face.

ipi Soft looks like about $400 for the Kinect and the Express (one camera) for body.

This would total about $1200.

Could substitute Face Mojo and an iPhone X (for Faceware) for about $600 - makes the total of Face Mojo / iPhone X + ipi Soft $1000.

Brekel is the cheapest option - does it work well with Daz Genesis3 and 8?

    DAZ figures have the facial bones already for that step

    I'll look into that, but it looks awfully complicated.

    I'm looking at markerless soluitions, even if it's not live.

    Mimic Pro does a terrible job, BTW.

    have you looked at facerig?

    its on steam

    I only have the cheap version that works with my webcam and the included avatars

    but you can get a studio version that imports collada rigs, apparently can export FBX too, don't know if anyone has tried using the exported FBX data on DAZ people, obviously if one did it would only be for their own use.

    are some odd licensing restrictions especially on live performances 

    its about $500 for me in Australia so not something I can afford

    I don't know of a single mocap system that could be said to work with G3/8s "well" or in any sense at all. You will always need something to retarget it. As of now, the only choices are Motionbuilder, Maya, and perhaps 3DXchange. I'm hoping that Mixamojo will turn out to be a general retargeting solution... that would change the civilized world overnight.

    When I used the Faceware trial in iClone with Genesis 3 and Genesis 8, it worked fine. Haven't tried any body capture.
