  • Wow!  You did a great job!  I really like the skin texture and how you lit the scene.  The background looks perfect framing around him.

  • Thanks. It is mostly photoshop of different clouds at different layer levels. I thought he turned out well, but had to fix some areas where the white skin blew out. I think fingernails on most male models are a problem area for some reason.

I've actually found that to be the case too.  I always have to go in and try to fix them.  I don't always get them the way I like just from surface settings.  Sometimes, you just have to go straight to the texture and redo them and I'm good enough yet to do that.  One of these days, but not quite yet.

I think the issue for me is that men's hands and nails are quite feminine. A lot of the male models are based on female content and it shows in areas like nails and the excessively lip glossy guy lips. Nails for men are often gray or long and shaped like a woman's.   I would dearly love a nice male hand hd morph with more shape to the fingers knuckles and some Vascularity. Hands on guys tend to look bad so I like to cover them when I can because fingers look odd or club like. I am constantly reducing their size for closeup shots because they can look distorted when perspective is used.

With skin the nails seem often grayish which in the case of sayon wouldn't be an issue but for regular guy death nails look kind of strange. If I notice I usually will copy the nails of a better character skin but sadly I don't always  notice until the render is done.

you can change the look in ps using the sponge tool changed to saturate in post work.  I am finding I enjoy doing post work more and more.

I wanted to do another render with the green radioactive slime and well I just had to add the skeletons

The slime scene is awesome, and I particularly like the skeleton's eyes in back standing up-  the hollows of the eyes with that slightly orange cast really sets the depths. Hope your dude gets some reinforcements soon!

  • Nice job on the slime  It looks practically radioactively florescent!  :)

    Thats super cool!

Thank you! Yes I love the slime. It comes with the easy snap scifi corridor set. It does slowdown render times a bit but it is a lot of fun to work with!

We take a break from Sci-fi to try some Egyptian-style clothing. Pharaoh wears some genesis and Michael 4 style clothing. The hardest thing was fitting the crown on his head, and for some reason his loincloth made the computer crash.

Okay, here are my latest two. Same pose, but different locations. I ended up going with the one in the snow, but I really liked the colors and the night vision scope in the second image as well. That location is really great, it is Lunar Science Station Air Ducts. It recolored nicely in iray. I also really love the MKS tactical sniper rifle and poses. Great piece of work.

Hope He's wearing some really good ear plugs in that second one or that rifle has a really good supressor on it.

I like the snow one better. yes

Thanks! I like the snow one too. I like the idea of the air duct though, so enjoyed messing around with it. =-)

As far as the earplugs... Yeah.  I'm going with weapons of the future being less noisy and soldiers of the futuer having built in ear noise reduction systems.   Yeah...  =-)

I like them both.  Its interesting how very different they are despite being identical in pose etc.

  • I like the snow one best but both are really great images.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,669

Thanks! Yeah, I admit, I like both, but prefer the snow one. I did enjoy the lighting in the tunnel render, and the redness through Owen's ear. I also really like the night scope.

  • I like the snow version better, too.  I like those ducts, though.  I seriously thought about getting them and didn't.  I never thought of doing something like your sniper shot with them.  That's very cool.  I may have to rethink getting them during any catch up sale they might have.  I like the looks of the insides.

Yeah I think they turned out more realistic than the promo art suggested. I just used  Iray uber base on it and used some lighting shaders on the floor light fixtures. It is dark in there but I wanted to use the scope so it worked out.

I picked up the sleep  chambers as well by evilinnocence. I think they will be interesting but haven't had time to play with them yet. My render time is short on weeknights due to work so I mostly get to play longer on the weekends.

I have the same problem.  Have to work so less time to play...

Yep! Two hours mostly every night, and that is hardly enough time fore me. Especially if my scene is complex.

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,898

LOL, when aren't your scenes complex? You're a master!

Here we are, my latest piece. I was intrigued  by the technophilia volume I tentacles. I used them in this to pull Owen to safety.
