Can anyone tell me if using Daz's Face Transfer Unlimited to make characters to sell is allowed please? Or can you atleast use to create a base to use with MR morphs to make characters to sell? Help with this would be greatly appreciated so I can avoid costly mistakes. Thank you very much.

As far as I know, yes BUT that's presupposin' one has rights to use everything else including the photograph for commercial purposes too.
I'm not a lawyer, I just read [too] many posts ;-)
For a proper answer though, you would need to ask the Company Daz3D first via one of those CS help tickets.
Thank you for posting that information. Sure is news to me and doesn't make sense either BUT then, lots in this business doesn't make sense.
FaceGen Artist Pro then - they state plainly on their website it can be used for commerical use. They don't go into details but it would be a good idea not to use the textures it defaults to, but rather to switch it to MR skins to work with. {that is if using skins not just the morphs}.

I have put in a CS ticket as I, up until now, not heard of this negativity. So shall see what response I get with regards to my understanding of how this works.
I'm refraining [it's hard sometimes] from speculating as to the reasons.
Edited to add, I have pulled my tutorial on how to use Face Transfer Unlimited for the time being.
Sigh, so many little things are not spelled out in plain English.
So, going by how I read the EULA yes we can and because I was simply told to read the EULA which Lauren said covers this matter. And also I know from previous contact with the Company that MR morphs can be used for redistribution as well {without purchasing any other licenses}. So it being that Face Transfer Unlimited is a plugin with which one can make morphs, as indeed one can also using Hexagon, why not eh? As with any face morph, be careful whose likeness is being morphed esp. for commercial use. That being said, many people have near exact doubles in life BUT do not use unauthorized face images for texturing with ;-) Those people have lawyers too.
Have attached the part of the EULA which I figure covers this matter. The Company is aware of this thread. :-)
Now, if anybody is thinking of going Pro using Face Transfer Unlimited, please, it's not that great. And no the product for 'fixes' of its morphs is NOT being sold as merchant resource. You would have make all the fixes yourself. It is a wonderful little plugin for one's own use.
If anybody is thinking of going Pro using Face Transfer, I would suggest taking a copy of the full EULA and bringing it to your own lawyer for interpretation and advice.
Sigh.
Let's all go outside and watch Wormwood dance with the Earth.
They told me I can't so I got my refund and bought some morph Mrs. I have found that I can do pretty decent dial morphs myself so I will just go that route and do everything the hard way like I have had to do my whole life anyway. I don't have enough money for my own lawyer so I will just go the full MR route. Unless I have it in writting that I can I won't bother with the Face Transfer Unlimited again. Thank you for trying to help. I do appreciate it. I'm just really frustrated with all the rules and tegulations regulations one has to go through today just to make a few bucks.
Okay CajunBeauty. Good luck with your projects ;-)
If/when circumstances change, many people are using Zbrush for morphing. Others use Blender and that's free!
I would need some tutorials for Blender to learn how to do that.
Always takes me awhile to find the link. But there is a free Blender plugin to assist with morphing Genesis 8 Female. Thread somewhere in the Freebies section.
Here it is: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/360376/dazsculptorfree
AFAIK it was updated for the latest release of Blender. I'm still back a version on that program too.
Plus Sickleyield has numerous tutorials on YouTube.com and at DeviantArt with regards to working in Blender and D/S.
Thank you very much for that information!!!!
For those following this, do not go by how I read things eh ;-) The term apparently is "Merchant Resource" and no, this is not thought to be a merchant resource by some in the office and the matter is still being looked into.
Oh Good News!!!!
Concrete Answer from CS: Yes! We own our derivative works BUT to keep the aforementioned {few posts up} EULA in mind. Whatever is made has to {obviously} require the use of the figures available from the company.
Happy Days!
As has been said "there is always another sale" ... you can repurchase, it will come on sale again.
I've reuploaded my tutorial for it if you're interested too.

You're quite welcome :-)
