Michael4.0 - why doesn't he show up on Content Library>People?

I recently purchased Michael 4.0 and found out that the character does not show up within Content Library > People > M4 whereas all my other characters do show up within Content Library.
Michael 4.0 however only shows up under Content Library > Product > M... also, when loading it into the scene, it seems to be a much more convulated process involving power loading or something.

Is this because M4 isn't a Genesis character? Now I am left wondering if all the M4-related props/clothings will have the same issue.

Thank you for your thoughts!

Yes, he's a pre-Genesis figure in Poser format.  Are you talking about Content Library > Daz Studio Formats (where he won't show up) or are you talking about Categories (where he shows up in Figures > People > Male > Real World)?

He doesn't show up in DAZ Studio Format > Content Library > My DAZ 3D Library > People > Michael 4.0 whereas all my other characters do show up there.
My M4 only shows up in Products > M...
He doesn't show up in Categories either, unless I don't know where to find him :P

To be honest, I am so new to all these that I don't even know the difference between DAZ and Poser or Genesis and non-Genesis.
But I guess it doesn't really matter as long as I know where to find the "Non-Daz" stuff.

Edited to add: Yes I also just located him within Categories > Figures > People > Male > Real World... does it mean that Categories will show EVERYTHING? Because if so then I shall always use it as my starting point.

That's because he's not saved in Daz Studio format. Pre Genesis figures are in Poser format.

Thank you for confirming that. Are his clothes/props also largely non-DAZ format?

No, not everything will show up in Categories, as some products don't have metadata.  If you "Scan Known Directories for Files" then anything which isn't categorized will show up in Default > Scan Results, and you can then categorize them as you like.

One more new thing to learn! Thank you I shall try that... never knew that I could categorize them. My inventory is in such an unmanageable mess at the moment.
There must also be something wrong with my Michael 5.0 - just loaded him and his skin is so dark when next to my Michael 4.0 almost like he's been in the caribbean sun for a month without sunscreen!

I categorize everything when I install it, using my own categories (outside of Default).  I could never find anything if I didn't (and I occasionally still can't find things, so when I find them I categorize them differently).

And yes, M5's default skin is much darker than M4's, unless you turn on SSS.

This is a huge tip for me... being a neat, organised freak that I am, I have been quietly hating the fact that I have had zero control over my DAZ inventory!
