I'd Like To Delete Some Products From My Library

Hi everyone!

What would you think of having the option to delete a product from your library, like on Steam or Amazon Kindle?

In the early days I used to take all the freebies, or to buy useless products for pennies.

I know I can hide them from DIM, and that they're at the end of Smart Content with Connect, but, since I know for sure I'll never use them, I would love the option to delete them once and for all! :D

Is it something implementable?

I'm working on an app that can remove non-DAZ products, if you have the installer zips.  Currently only from the default extraction path, but I'm working on making it also remove files that have been moved to other locations.

    Hi Taoz! :D

I still use your tool for the denoiser, it's awesome!

I was not talking about uninstalling, but about removing them from my account altogether, so that I never see them again!

Glad you like the denoiser tool! :)

Oh, you mean from your DAZ account library?  They can remove products if you return them, so it seems to be possible.  Maybe if you ask them to just remove them without getting a refund?

I guess that's possible, but I don't want to disturb them, so I thought it would be a nice feature for daz3d.com to have if it allowed users to delete unwanted products!

I think an issue, for Daz, would be that the online Product Library is meant to be a record of your purchases, unwanted or otherwise. That's why every item is linked to orders and invoices. They currently only delete items if you return them within the 30-day window after purchasing. There's also the issue of, what happens if you say, "Oh, I'm not interested in this right now", and then a year later, you realize that this ancient thing, with a little resurfacing, would be perfect for whatever new project you might be doing. And you know that you purchased it ... but Daz has deleted the item from your Product Library, and deleted it from your orders and invoices, so there's no record that you did. So you would need to buy it again.

I suspect they would just say to uninstall the item from your personal computer, so it will be out of your way. If you use DIM, you can always hide the product download so that you never see it again -- no idea what's possible with Smart Content/Daz Connect/whatever-the new-one-is, I'm afraid.

Of course I'm not talking about useful stuff, but about textures set for ancient clothing that I took years ago just because they were free and never used!

I know you can hide them, as I've said in the very first post, but they always come back when you format your PC, and you always see them with Connect.
    I've never even installed them.

Most online platforms give you the choice to delete products you don't want anymore from your library, I don't see where the problem is!

Possibly a way to vault them so they are still part of your order history they are just not in your current product library.

Make a feature request to allow us to hide products.
