Motion blurring of shadows - Solved

I've just used motion blurring in Daz Studio 4.6 but noticed that the shadow was unaffected. Am I missing something?

    If you really look you will notice the wings have zero shadows, that's the legs you see.

    EDIT wait I do see some odd stuff there. But in truth I never noticed the shadows before. The Wings look great though.

    Thanks for the reply Jaderail.

    I tried to get a decent shadow on the G2F Robo surface but I only managed to get a shadow when the Wasp was well above the surface. As soon as the wasp got close to the surface, the shadow started to break up. Some shadows for the parts like the head and legs totally failed. In the end after hours of headbutting the wall I merged 2 renders in Gimp.

    Maybe it has something to do with all those skin settings in G2F Robo such as Velvet.
    The plane surface in these renders though are standard. with just one spotlight and raytraced.

    If the object is small try lowering the Shadow Bias of the lights and for graininess try lowering the Advanced Render settings Shading Rate and increasing Shadow Samples

    The Bias set to 0.2 which was at 1.0, sorted out the shadow clipping. The renders were set using the AMR render settings script, set to Average Quality, 0.5 shading rate and 16 Shadow samples.

    Still wondering if ticking motion blur in the render setting effects the shadows?

    Set to High Quality 0.2 Shading rate and 32 Shadow samples.

    Motion blur doesn't appear in reflections, I know, so it's possible it may not appear in shadows either. I haven't checked this in practice but the write-up for progressive render said it rendered motion blur in reflections - it may be worth trying that (in the Advanced tab of Render Settings) to see if it helps here.

    Ticking Progressive rendering in the advanced render settings, did the trick.

    Me too. But I've also got to fill in a dent in the wall, or perhaps next time I'll move along the wall and maybe make a feature out of it.

    LOL Jad. But in all seriousness I would have even thought about Progressive rendering as I was under, wrongly and rightly, the impression that progressive is a lower quality render output. Being borked for so long doesn't help as I don't use it. Perhaps it time to start to use it more.
