Partial Shadow

Can anyone shed some light (sorry) on why the shadow of the mesh part of the clothing is trucated?

This is a pretty basic setup: Victoria 6, Blackout for Genesis 2 Females and a default distant light.

As a result of various experiments I believe the issue is with V6 rather than the light or the clothing. Actually to be more precise, with the fact that the clothing is "fitted to" V6. If you change its setting to "Fit To None" and manually translate it to a position in front of V6 you get the second image, which is more like what I would expect

It's almost certainly the Shadow Bias setting - that's a measure, in cm, of the offset between shadow and object and it's used to prevent self-shadowing (which shows as bands of dark and light across a surface). Try turning it down so that it's lower than the separation between clothes and figure and the shadow should be continuous.
