Is there a way to render self shadows separately?

Hi there, for the purpose of post work in applications like Photoshop, I was wondering if there was a way to render the shadows separately from the figure.

I'm aware of shadow catchers and the like, but I'm specifically after seperately rendering the shadow cast by a figure onto itself, not shadows cast by a figure onto something else, and unless I haven't looked in the right places, shadow catchers don't seem to cover that (unless I can get a shadow catcher to perfectly mimic my figure and whatever it's wearing).

Thank you for any help or advice.

Well the shadow has to be rendered on something, won't happen in the 'air'. Perhaps removing all the diffuse and like textures and putting their colors to white will make it easier to use for a shadow layer in Photoshop. PSP at any rate has a background eraser, think most of the programs do these days.
