3D Art Freebie Challenge-June 2020 - "A Day At..." - Main Thread Only
A month has passed and we have been liberated. What will your "A Day At ...." look like? Mine was kind of something that is not around much.
The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.
This Freebie Challenge will end Tuesday June 30th @ 23:59 Daz time.

as one southern belle once said. This thread is pretty quite. What no ideas for an image. What say you to A Day at the "Movies", A Day at the "Wedding" of my cousin Luie's. A Day at the Zoo. A Day at the Beach. A Day at the Mall. A Day at the Park. A Day at the game. A Day at the Museum. A Day at ......... you get the idea. I am kind of partial to my suggested theme in the banner "A Day at the Circus" and with that in mind I have some links I think might help you with at least a couple of the ideas for a A Day at ,,,,,, Check them out just for fun.
A Day at the Zoo
redeyecat does some wonderfull theme projects where she collects different 3D products to be used in an image. She has a DIY Zoo category here: https://redeyecat.wordpress.com/2014/08/10/freebie-spotlight-diy-zoo-01/ she identifies location of animals, fences, stalls, food and such. Not only does she help you find things but she also includes her own freebies such as textures or poses.

A Day at the Circus

The banner image for this month uses Trick Pony by HaiGan (Jellyworman) on his site here: http://www.jellywormman.net/haigan/ It contains tack, prop, morphs, textures and poses for the P4 horse and two poses for Victoria 3. One of which I used on V2 in my image.
There is also a RingMistress outfit for V3 by PhilC here: https://web.archive.org/web/20050204181801/http://www.philc.net/freestuff_archive.htm (Look at the bottom of the page for content) It contains, the hat, hair, neck tie and cuffs props and coat dress with panties and a whip that is rigged. The attached image is G8F wearing the outfit. I used Genesis as the base to get the suit into a weight map format and then on to G8F.

But it's still early in the month... and there's a lot of stuff going on, in the US in particular.
I don't live there, but I'm back to work after a long, corona related absence. So I'm back to almost only having time for DAZ Studio during the weekends.
I'm sure folks will start submitting entries soon!

So I have been playing around with my A Day At the Circus and I came up with thes scene. It is rendered in iRay. The cage and stand used in the image is from an old DAZ freebie from before 2012 when the new forums were created it is called "Millineum Big Cat Accessories" had a wagon, the cage, hoops, and stands. V2 is in the converted V3 Ring Mistress with the free Segmented Boots V3 by Specs (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031065812/http://www.keyhole-kreations.com/specs2dl.htm). I have uploaded the pose of the lion. I used morphs for the mouth so that is a shape preset. And I have uploaded the pose for V2 which will work for V3 or A3 as well. I also have attached the red and white texture I applied to a plane primative to make the floor. Hope you can use these for something.
Personally speaking, I'm having problems trying to think of a way to anthropomorphize Wednesday so that it can actually be 'at' somewhere. Maybe others are having the same problem ?
The embarassing truth is, I've never seen Gone with the Wind.
But I do remember Gone with the Window, the Drag Race episode where the contestants made dresses out of curtains...

Ah yes were they green velvet by chance? Not embarassing. I am sure there are many movies, animations and shorts that I have not seen that are just as iconic. Watching Gone with the Wind is just another opportunity to watch one of the movies from the Golden Era. The director did some amazing things with 1939 cinema technologies not to mention using color in a big way. The scene of Atlanta after Sherman came through is impactful. The use of color must have been amazing for those that watched it in 1939. I kind of think they might have felt like me after watching Avatar in 3D. You just didn't want it to end. You might find it difficult to get through, though. It is three hours long. It is told from a white person from the South point of view. The love story might not be to your taste. Scarlet is a spoiled brat. But for all its shortcomings it is a work that would be worthwhile to study. Just like Metropolis (1927) and Maria, the central characterin the movie. I can only take about 10 minutes of it at a time but it is still worth doing so. ArtDeco is pretty cool stuff. And who can resist such a Russian angst kind of thing. I love movies. Watched them my whole life. I noticed that The Blob is now available on Netflix. That is my first real memory. Playing on the bars in the drive-in playground and seeing "it" eat a person. Love at first sight and it scared the s**t out of me. Still don't like horror very much but to get that kind of emotion was a wonder and isn't that what it is all about? Agreed, Wednesday Addams is the only modern anthropomorphisation. Failing that, Wednesday is derived from 'Wodin's Day', which suggests a pretty obvious anthropomorphisation, as does Thursday (Thor's Day) and Friday (Frige's Day). Friga/Frige/Frigg was a Germanic Goddess associated with the Roman Goddess Venus.

Their boss probably told them that things were getting back to normal, so they had to go back to the orifice today.
They've most likely just been staring at it all day. Wondering if the boss actually said "office". But navel gazing is more fun.

I made my own orifice in Blender, and the orifice grass is Poser hair.
One side of the orifice is kept clear of orifice grass so that Fol-things can come and have picnics.
