Question on Auto-fit Menu and V3 Shapes for Genesis

I recently bought V3 and M3 Shapes for Genesis and used it successfully to convert a V3 character to Gen2F with GenX2. So I know it's installed properly, as I have the V3 sliders in the Shapes and Parameters Tab. However, the promotional description specifically states that it will also allow you to use V3 clothing with Genesis via Auto-fit. I tried it, though, and V3 is not appearing in Auto-fit's dialog menu. Is it supposed to? Is there any guidance on using the V3 Shapes. The documentation offers no useful information.

Thank you!

If you bought this : http://www.daz3d.com/v3-and-m3-shapes-for-genesis then you should have the Autofit clones, and they should appear in the list when you try to conform V3 or M3 clothing to Genesis (NOT Genesis 2 M or F).

I have that item, and I just checked, it works for me.

You're right. It's a pity that it doesn't work with Gen2F, though. I wonder if there's a workaround for that? It's counter-intuitive to me that the same product is required to convert V3 to Gen2F, but does not allow the use of V3 clothing withGen2F.

There is an upgrade and an add on for GenX so you can use G2 figures

    http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2

If you own the original GenX, you get a discount on the upgrade

    You also need this product

I already have those, and use Gen2F. But I'd like to use V3 clothing on Gen2F-based characters, and the product I inquired about does not seem to allow that.

The round about way to do it is to convert first to Genesis from V3 and then to G2F. SY has clones for G2F and G2M

    http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-male-clone-for-genesis

    http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-female-clone-for-genesis

The same vendor also has a Rigging and Morphing system for Genesis, a dress rig for G2F and a tunic rig for G2M.

These products convert from Genesis 2 to Genesis 1.

Conversion from Genesis 1 to Genesis 2 is provided with free Genesis 2 starter essentials, but is not perfect, then the SY products for achieve a better fit from Genesis 1 to Genesis 2 are:

This seems to be more trouble and expense than it's worth. I suppose I should just stick with V4 wear, which almost always converts to Genesis and Gen2F flawlessly.

I'm necro-posting to a rather old thread to confirm something...

    I have a huge runtime of V3, M3, S3, and A3 items.

If I want to use them on current genesis 2 figures, the product I need is this one:

    http://www.daz3d.com/v3-and-m3-shapes-for-genesis

Or more specifically, for all my stuff, this one:

    http://www.daz3d.com/gen-3-iconic-shapes-for-genesis

And what I need to then do is grab my outfit, and thanks to the above product giving me a 'clone' - fit it to Genesis 1. Then I can save it, and then load in the saved item and fit it to genesis 2.

Or could I load say... a V3 shirt and pants, a Genesis 1, and a Genesis 2. Fit the clothes to Genesis 1, and then just fit them again to genesis 2?
    - Is the saving the file step needed?

And have I found the correct product there?

I only want GenX and its add-on I gather... if I want to take character morphs over from figure to figure? (I also have a number of these, but they are not as important to me as my library of clothes).

You do need to save the clothing as a Support Asset after autofitting it to Genesis 1, before you can autofit it to Genesis 2.

And that's correct, GenX is for transferring character morphs, not for clothing.
