Invalid node selection for "preset_material" type

I am confused by this [Invalid node selection for "preset_material" type] error I am getting.

If I understand right it seems like the complaint that I am attempting to add a skin to an object and don't have the right object selected. But it is a prop, magazines specifically. It even lists Material(s) at the top and IRAY at the bottom. I don't see this without a skin option.

Which combination of item, selection, and preset is doing this? Is that the fulll message?

I tried to have the item I wanted it on to appear on selected, then I tried without having anything selected. Usually, everything just centered.

  • Sorry this took so long. These were the 2 items I tried. Double clicked to get the error and also tried dragging it into the scene.

I hope this is what you needed.

Ok, but which model was selected? (And I can't read the name of the second preset under the note.)

  • Sorry, I'm confused. What do you mean by model?

When I first tried I had a bookshelf selected, hoping it would put it as a child of the bookshelf, but then I tried it with everything deselected and still got the same error. Then I tried just the single magazine and got the same error.

I added the same image without the markups. I didn't realize it was important. If I am missing some information, what exactly am I missing that you would need?

  • TWMP Magazine Stack if that helps

Ah, I figure it out. I was supposed to select prop. I never saw the item in the prop folder before. I thought this was the whole thing, not just a skin.

And this is why I post in the new user forum.
