DAZ 4.12 Crashes after Save

I installed DAZ Studio 4.12.1.117 using DAZ DIM, on my Max running  MacOS Mojave 10.14.6.

Periodically,  and somewhat randomly, Daz Studio crashes after saving a file.  Also, I sometimes get a message stating that the file can't be saved and to look at my log file.  I've never had this problem with Studio before.
Sorry if this is a known issue.

Are you using cmd S? Try using File>Save for now, or try using the Public Build (Beta) - there is currently an issue with the way shortcuts a reprocessed that can lead to doubling-up of commands. You could unassign the shortcuts through Window>Workspace>Customise, saving your layout first if you have customised so that you can restore it once the issue is resolved.

Yes, I'm using the command S shortcut.  OK, I'll try using menu save instead and see if it is any better.   Side note, the file does save— no work is lost.   Once I pressed Command-O to open a file and it displayed two open dialogs one over the other. Odd.  Thanks!

Yes, it's a general issue with shortcutss tacking up - how bad it is in its effect depends on the command.

Right,  when I press command-R to render it gives me an alert that it is already in the process of rendering. It's like I'm rapidly pressing command-R, which I'm not.

But in the current beta, even though the spurious error alert is gone, shortcuts still seem to lead to crashes when a render is finished, or the render window is dismissed, or the render is canceled.  Sometimes.

I have.  Even though I gave precise information on reproducing the problem, they closed the ticket because they said I did not provide the information requested.

Thanks, the File> Save from the menu seems to be working for me versus using my keystroke shortcut.

  • More than a year later, this is still broken in 4.15.0.30.  And for people like me with a Command-S twitch, this is a major problem.  I've seen this crash six times tonight.

  • Crashing when saving is something I've been experiencing quite a lot in Daz 4.21. My files do seem to save, but Daz crashes. I too always use the Cmd+S shortcut. I'll try using the menu command from now on.
