Hello :)
I hope I put this in the right forum.

My question is this. What is the name of the character model that is used in the promo for Goldtassel’s Hawthorn Hair ? http://www.daz3d.com/hawthorn-hair . I would really like to puchace this character model.

I already asked Goldtassel and I was told that Daz purchaced the hair and they did all the promo and Goldtassel did not know the name of the model Daz used.

Thank you, have a great day.

I could be wrong, but it looks like a unique blend rather than a fixed character. It's not uncommon for Daz to dial up their own figure from a selection of morphs rather than using a preset. Unless, of course, the product they're advertising is a new character morph.

It looks to me like Mihrelle's Faryn over at Renderosity. Different skin though.

    Thanks for that info :)
I hope thats not the case because thats a nice model.
Plus it is used on so many promos by Goldtassel and propschick.
Thats why I was thinking it was a base character.

    Thanks again.

Its been answered before, it is a popular question lol, but its a custom character morph (cant recall if via morph mixing or completely custom) that was created by the artist who does the promos so not available to anyone. It is a very pretty face they should release it :D

IIRC, someone did post what the morph mix was in the past, and it was something VERY simple, like equal percents of Vickie, Aiko and Stephanie and... darned if I can remember.

Unfortunately, that thread was in the old forum archives which now seem to be gone forever.

    Greetings,

In theory they want to replace the forums with a NEW forum software, and they've bandied about that when they do that they _might_ be able to restore all our old posts to us, as well as making them available on-site.

We'll see how that works out, but they have a very small web team, so they are limited in how much they can do at a time. All I'm saying is that I would not write off the old forum forever... :)

Tthe operative words there, unfortunately, are: want, in theory, bandied about, when, might, small and limited, multiplied by a "soon" that's a year old and the fact that even the Google cache for those pages are now gone. Coming after a year in which the answer to every third technical question seemed to include a referral to the old forum archives, I'd say the odds at this point could best be illustrated with a render of monkeys coming out of the Freak 5's posterior regions... if said image wasn't against forum policies, that is. :blank:

The really ironic part is that Rendo's site does everything that DAZ's store does, sells the same kind of product, has a similar sized-staff and has made several major upgrades over the last two years without any real glitches... and their parent company (Bondware) actually sells the e-commerce software they use as both a commercial product and a service.
