Rakshasa: Not what I was expecting.

in The Commons
So recently I purchished Rakshasa for Genesis 8 male and female. They are tiger characters and thought they would look cool in a scif render. The examples given certainly made theme look that way. Onely one problem. Here is what the product looks like:

And here is a quick test render using a poser 4 figure as comparasion. Not exactly the same thing. This is rendered in 3Delight. I've tried different mats and it doesn't make any difference. Not exactly sure what's going on.

I don't think they have 3dl materials. You'd have to convert them from iray to 3dl yourself.
dForce hair does not play nice in 3DL....there is no way to attach texture maps to the hair uv's...so they can only be one solid colour.
That might be doable. How do I go about doing it? I've looked at the textures and there's really nothing to them. Meaning there's no detail at all.
Yeah, there's no way to texture dForce Hair in 3dl. Pick a solid color you like.
Even without the hair trying to find a texture that looks good is touch and go. If there was a texture converter I could just convert an older texture and this wouldn't be a problem. I have tried rendering itr using the other method but that takes over an hour for a single image on my machine.
Maybe a fiber hair shader for 3dl would help? This is a bit expensive, but it has hair shaders for 3dl.
Well, here's your update. I was able to track down a feline texture for genesis 3 female that's compatable with Genesis 8 female called Cat Lyn. You can buy it on site. While it's not quite a perfect match it's the best I can come up with so far.
How does the figure look if you use the textures and hair, but not the cat head morph? More "furry" than "full-on feline?"
With the fur, texture but not the head morph it's just human.
