Hi, is there a setting to make shadows angular, rather than smooth/curved, so that shadows are straight lines and blocks instead? I'm thinking of the shadows in comic books like sin city and so on.
Cheers
There is no setting that I am aware of that would do that, especially if working with Iray, since that render engine is designed to portray the effect of lighting in a realistic way deliberately. Trickery would be the only possible solution, I believe. Are you using 3Delight or Iray?
The shadows are not angular, straight lines or blocks, there are harsh. Use fewer lights and make the pimary light source much stronger then any other. Finally you may need to adjust contrast in image program.
If you're in 3delight, you can play tricks like having the figure cast no shadow, then cast a different shadow from an object not visible in the render, I think.

Maybe linerender9000 would do what you want? I don't have it so can't recommend it;)
