Can I use a video file as a texture?

In Poser, there was a simple way to add a video file to a texture, using an old-school .avi file (if I remember rightly?). Anyhow, I'm now a Daz convert but miss this feature and wondered if there was a simple way achieve this in Daz? The only way I have found so far, is to use 'image files' combined with this script: https://www.daz3d.com/animated-textures-script-pro-for-daz-studio-3-4 - but the description suggests I have to render the final piece using their software. I use Daz specifically for its Iray renderer, so this doesn't sound like an option. Is there another way?
Cheers!

@ben-2464235 I'm only replying because this sounds so interesting to me... I'd never thought about it! Is the idea something along the lines of having something playing on a TV by using a video as the Surface for the Screen kind of thing?
I'm just guessing that the final overall intent would be to Render a Video in order to view the Scene with any paricular Surface inside the Scene "playing" a video?
If so, and there are going to be a particular number of Frames to the Render, absolute worst case scenario could you Convert the "Surface Video" into an Image Sequence, and then Keyframe the change in Frames on the Surface, one Frame of Surface for each Frame of the Rendered Scene?
only using a dazscript and image series in D|S
casual has one texanim also a couple in the store

Yet another feature that has been STANDARD in other 3D applications since the 90s (3D Studio R4 as well as True Space 3D had this feature in 1995) that ISN'T present in Daz. Can we get this INCREDIBLY SIMPLE feature added?
If it is incredibly simple then the SDK is here https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-4-5-sdk
incredibly simple is to just use a different program to DAZ studio like I do
