[Solved] Daz Studio will not retain layout

Daz Studio (I'm currently on 4.12.1.117) will not retain changes to the layout - regardless of changes made, they do not persist outside that instance of DS, and I cannot find anywhere place to save a layout as default. (I can save layouts, but there's no option for that to be the default).
Is there some configuration file I need to modify/remove/reset/etc to solve the problem?

Is DS closing down cleanly?
I think I've solved it. I'd changed my Daz Studio shortcuts to be able to run instances. Launching the program without the command line options and then making the changes seems to have worked.
Yes, the command line options do include various ways to clean the settings or copy them from another instance (or release channel).
