Cerian Nobility question

SevrinSevrin Posts: 6,310

So the clay render shows 4 hasp closures, but the textured renders show buttons, so the clay render doesn't show what we're getting.  The texture add-on shows buttons and  hasps.  What's the deal?

But shouldn't the Cerian Nobility base texture be representative of the mesh?  As it stands, you don't get all the benefits of the base item unless you also buy the add-ons.  The only thing interesting about this garment are the hasps.  As it stands, we just get some painted on buttons and leaves on an outfit made out of sweat fabric.

It's annoying that with every Pro Bundle, the garments that come with the bundle only have the most boring texture.  In this case, however, we don't even get the full benefit of the mesh.

This is a gorgeous outfit. The base outfit is anything but boring in my opinion and the expansion textures are very nice as well.  Thanks for the different button styles on the texture set.  Can't wait to render them all

If it isn;t with the clasps in the base product, it is basically selling what you see is not what you get. Forces us to have to buy the texture add to get what we should have gotten with the base product. not good

Or just use shaders on them. I'm assuming they are a matt zone?

Well, looking at it from another way, you're getting an EXTRA Trans map that knocks out the clasps.

    :-D

It's the "DecoFront" Surface zone, yes. They seem to be cut off with an Opacity map. You can delete that map if you like, or otherwise add them back in. The front buttons are on the diffuse & other maps themselves ("FrontStrip" surface), not modeled as separate items.

I'm getting the outfit and the texture pack so I will be getting the full benefit of your work - thank you!  I prefer the clasps, but am pleased to know that if I change my mind at any point I can use buttons. I appreciate the effort and talent you put into your products.

I think the OP's point is being missed...that the textures that come with the *base* outfit do not include textures for the clasps that are pictured on the *base* mesh. Yes, you can just pop a metal shader on them. But you shouldn't have to.

I completely agree on this. With any luck there will be a corrective update soon.  Admittedly, I am still waiting to purchase until I get home from work tonight so am commenting out of ignorance. At least I'll have something to test and scrutinize as soon as it DIM installs.   :)

Also means that even if you turn the clasps back "on" the buttons are still going to be there because they are on the textures and not modeled.

    ok.  .

as texturer, i dont know which will the base set, and which will the expansion. i understand you, im sorry, but _I_ (its not the daz fault) decided, for few sets fits the button more.

next time i make the buttons, as LIE.

however, i have to tell, not the first, not the last time, when i use transparency maps, but every time when i do, i do, because i try to do the outfit better, make more versatility.

    thank you

    Hi sade.

Generally I understand about the original comment .

But I want to add that I love the things you have made available here. You are one of my favourite vendors, creators, here.

@Gogger "With any luck there will be a corrective update soon"

Won't be an update if no one submits a ticket.

  • It's not difficult to replace the Buttons panel with cloth? It's just the FrontStrip surface.

Just go in, replicate the cloth section from other panels. The other stuff (bump and whatever) has such a small influence, that's also super simple to modify relative to the diffuse map.

Whether you should or should not have to. I mean... I modify maps or create new texture maps all the time for my own purposes. If I don't like it, I change it. IMO, everyone should try to do that. It's a good skill to have.

I was just approaching it from the glass half full perspective. You're getting an extra Trans map (LOL).

It's an EXTRA, not a subtraction.
