howdy,

I'm trying to release a scene with a bunch of obj props I imported in from Blender but I need the data files that DS saves. where does it save them so I can include them in this set?

Hi, you can find the location of your runtime folder by clicking the menu "Edit", then "Preferences."

Click the tab labeled "Content Library" on the top. You will then see the location of your runtime library.

the Data folder is in my library\Data

edit: the second screenshot shows the structure of my library in Windows Explorer.

I found them, but it's a nightmare in there! I don't know what's from one project to the next. Does anyone know if there is a way to sort them out as to what file they go with?
Here's how I found it works, when I collect as a SCENE ASSET>SUPPORT ASSET it only takes into account the props I've added since the last save and collects them into the folders and files I specify at the time of that save. The existing parts of the file already saved are excluded and kept in whatever prior folder they were in. How do I collect the entire project into single folders? is that possible?

If you use a separate, empty, DAZ Studio Content Directory for the project then the \Data folder will be in that, and you won't have any other files in it. Place the textures in its Runtime\Textures folder, ad a readme and you should be able to just zip it up.

I opened the file, created the new folder for my studio content, pointed Studio to that folder and moved that folder to the top of the list.
And the first time I saved it created one file in the date folder. I erased that folder tired again an it never created a data folder. this was done from Save As>Support Asset>Scene Asset...

You could, if it's a self-contained set, use the Content Directory Manager to copy your current set up to a new set, assuming you haven't previously done so, and then create a new content directory set with just the one, empty folder. That way all the files should end up there. However, it really shouldn't matter where in the list the folder is - as long as the save destination is in the directory its Data folder will be used for newly created asset files.
