smart content disappearing

for the past couple of weeks when i install content with the daz content manager it does not show up in the daz studio smart content tab anymore

the content is there though ...
the content manager does install it
and i can find it when i search in the content library

but it's not so smart anymore ?!?!

it started happening all of a sudden after i ran daz install manager one day and it had a bunch of file (incl. daz studio) which it installed/updated
from then on ... boom ... no more new smart content

anybody got any ideas ???

i'm using the latest that daz content manager install ... daz studio 4.6.2.120

this is very frustrating
especially since the search feature does not find directories ... only files (a big gripe of mine)
so when i want to find the pc item hammam ... i have to search for hmm_ to find anything ... even though the items are in a hammam directory

That sounds like a corrupt database. If you have any custom categories/metadata, Export User Data -- if you just use the metadata provided with products or created by DIM, you can skip that step. Close DS, stop the CMS, and delete the database files -- search for ContentDB.ind (with hidden and system files visible) -- it will probably be in Program Files or ProgramData. Delete the files in that folder, then start CMS Start DS and give it a minute to recreate the databases, then Re-Import Metadata.

I used to have the same problem nearly every time I installed new content. I found that if I stop the content manager using the Stop command in the Start menu before I shut down Windows it doesn't happen.
