So Anise Texture Set for Genesis 8 Female shows Olympia 8 as a required product.  Why is she required if it's just a texture set?

TLDR: Olympia's not required.

She's probably listed as required because you need her if you want a character looking like the promo pics.

So I went ahead and bought it.  I tried it on a character that already has a very nice skin, Albany by Mousso.  It looks very good!  The Anise skin uses chromatic SSS, vs the  monochromatic one on Albany.  I would have liked some skin tone options with Anise, as just adjusting translucency gives poor results.  Loses a point for that. :P The make-up options (not shown) are of the everyday, subtle variety, which I like a lot.  The eyes are good quality, and there's some variety.

    9/10.  Would buy again.

Anise is only a texture so that doesn't make sense.

She's a texture set optimized for used with Olympia morph.

The product says it's optimized for Olympia 8, as in, that skin was made for her shape in mind. And looks best on Olympia 8 in the artist's opinion, BUT it can be used on other characters.

I agree that the skin looks good, regardless of character. Olympia 8 is my favorite base so far, but her default skin wasn't doing her any favors.

    Thank you Servin!

Yeah she is a texture that can be used on any Gen 8 character- I just used Olympia 8 for my store promos.

Sorry to ask a potentially dim-witted question but is the Anise texture the one on the left or right?

I did almost add this option to the package-

If you plug the Diffuse texture into the translucency color and reduce the weight setting to around 70%-you get a really pretty darker skin color.

It might be worth me doing an update to include this though! Thanks Servin for the idea!

PS this is a 5 sec iray preview-I think I will render it out and see how it looks ;-)

Oops.  The original Albany skin is on the left; the Anise skin is on the right.  Albany's skin is a classic, and is another skin you can try on any character.

So, it really does look nice on other characters.  I like the darker skin, but I'd especially be interested in a lighter skin.   Since that's a whole bunch of colour changes, maybe in the next product?  In any case, as it is out of the box I kind of like the skin on younger characters, but maybe it's a little "heavy"?  IDK.  Here it is on Teen Josie, with and without the wet skin that comes with the Long Wet hair by Linday.

And since I brought it up, here's TJ with Albany's skin.

So yeah, I think it's nice enough to spend a little more time with.  I'll likely be using it a bit more.  This is Carley.

I imagine that shade might look great on a Mediterranean beach or island.

Sevrin, does Anise have blush on all her presets, or is there a barefaced option? I can't tell. This is looking interesting to me.
