Daz to poser tutorials

Are there any tutorials on creating PoserCFs? I have some Genesis and Genesis 2 items that I would like to use in poser.

Have you tried the Rendo forums?   There are probably a lot more Poser users there.

There's a DAZ written DSON export tool (python script for Poser) in the store that works in the current versions of Poser to import DAZ stuff (duf files and dependencies). It didn't cost much, and may even be free if you're in the PC+ club.

Note that the Python version in Poser is expected to be upgraded soon, this script hasn't been updated in a long time, and there are no indications that it will be, so the current version of this tool is explicitly noted by the Poser devs as being not expected to be useful in the future updated versions of Poser's built in Python interpreter.

I know that it works pretty well on Genesis1 figures, I think it works with G2, and have no idea if it works with the G3/G8 figures. Others may have experience there.

There's also a script by local (DAZ unrelated) script guru "mjcasual" (simple searches work) that allows for some DAZ-to-Poser exporting of scene elements.

    cheers,

    --ms (seriously anti-affiliated with DAZ)

The DSON tool is about to reach end-of-life in new builds of Poser. Poser devs are saying export Daz assets to PZ2 format. But DSON is probably fine if your Poser version is old enough.

That assumes Daz won't produce a python 3 version. Not saying they will, but they could.

Which is a rather strange idea, since pz2 is for poses. Cr2 export on the other hand... wink

    CR2, not PZ2 - PZ2 is a pose file.

I have the tool, but are there any tutorials on how to use it?

There is a free tool at Rendorosity for Genesis 3:

    And tutorial:

I accept the correction, but the error is not mine. Article titled Poser, Python, DSON and more has the quote, "If user want to use Genesis figures in Poser, DAZ Studio has a PZ2 (Poser format) exporter that allows the export of figures that can load from Poser's library system."
