Hi all,

I'm going to build a new PC and have a few questions on what would be improved with the new PC with Daz Studio handling.

My current build is:

CPU I7 4790K with Corsair H100iGTX water-cooling

MSI Z87-G45 mainboard

32GB DDR3 Kingston 1866

Samsung SSD 500 for windows 10 Pro

WD Black 1TB 7200 HDD with installed Daz Library.

2x GPU MSI GTX 1080 TI

Power supply 750Watt Gold (yes with 2 GPU's installed)

-----------------
the new system will keep the 2 GPU's and PSU but with the following changes:

Ryzen 9 3900x with Corsair H100iGTX water-cooling

GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO Mainboard (with 3 PCI-E  GPU slots for a 3rd GPU in the future)

Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (3x32) DDR4 3200 Mhz. (future will add 64GB more - in total 128 GB)

Sabrent 500GB Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 for windows 10 Pro

Sabrent 1 TB Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 and will contain the Daz studio library

------------------------

Now because I'm not changing the GPU's (yet) rendering won't improve much on only GPU's

But what will improve with Daz studio?

  • Will the Ryzen 3900x help out with the 2 1080 Ti GPU's or will the CPU still be a bottleneck when used together with the 2 GPU's?
  • Will there be any speed improvement in loading times on models? (i do have lots of morph capabilities installed that make loading times more slow now)
  • Will there be any speed improvement in loading library items?
  • Will there be any speed improvement in editing in the viewport?
  • Will there be any speed improvement in texture/smooth shaded animation playback?
  • Will there be any speed improvement in OpenGL rendering?
  • Is there anything else that's worth mentioning in speed improvement?

I know maybe a 2080 super / 2080 Ti would be a better upgrade but i need to PC also for video editing amongst other things so a new very expensive GPU isn't an option right now. And after the new build the first upgrade would be another set of 64GB of MEM and then if the prices are low enough a 3rd GPU 1080 Ti (which also needs a power supply 1200 / 1600 Watts PSU upgrade)

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
