Animation interpolation

Hi! I have a character, sitting on the throne, and holding his sword;
I want to make him "breath" naturally. So I pin down hands, feet, and bend/twist chest and legs a little bit. That makes him hold hands and feet in place, and just move inner body parts.
Theoretically.
In reality, the hands, and the sword, really are pinned down in place, but at the first and the last frame only. In between frames, they are moving along with the sword side-to-sde, while I don't need sword to move at all. It is unnatural, as sword is one of characters anchor point.
I guess it is because interpolation is non-linear, or inverse kinematics are broken. Any advice?

you are right the pinning tool is not usefull for animation
why not just use the inhale morph ?
Thank you, inhale morph is a really good idea, didn't know it existed for some reason.
