Disable Inverse Kinetics

Since upgrading to 4.12 I find that I keep getting involved with IK although I dont have any use for them and they actually annoy me. I have spent ages trying to find a may to disable or better still stop them popping up but had no luck so can someone please tell me how to get rid!
