DAZ control menus moving around spontaneously?

Am I losing my mind, or do DAZ controls, such as Save, Create. Windows, etc., sometimes move around seemingly at will? Please tell me I'm not going 'round the bend.

I don't think it would be responsible to venture an opinion on your mental stability, but there's probably a good reason for things moving around.   They have been known to migrate with upgrades, and there's the Window>Workspace>Update and Merge Menus option that allows you to reset them.

No they do not move around spontaneously. There are several ways for the user to move them, often without realizing.

Well, they're different from yesterday. For instance, Open Recent used to be directly underneath Open. Now it's not. Other menus have also been changed. I had to re-select my preferred workspace. It's odd.

Try reloading your layout (Window>Workspace>Select layout), or at lleast the menus using the Load button in Window>Workspace>Customise. I would suspect this means that DS is not shutting down properly, either directly due to an error (most likely a third-party plug-in) or due to force-quitting as it shuts down. It coudl also be soemthing (security software or soem kind of system utility) blocking or corrupting the layout files that are written on close.

    Yes they do.

Not often, but to those who haven't seen it, the assertion that they do not is arguably presumptuous in a problem-solving context.

Not sure why either - no trend identified (use DS a lot, so I'd likely notice some pattern).

Restarts and the "menu-bar->windows->workspace->update and merge menus" sometime help.

Per Richard's comment, DS generally saves it's menus/configs upon exiting, so if anything odd occurs during a DS shutdown, corruptions of the settings may occur - best I can figure.

cheers, and no, it's not just you.

Thank you! I'm relieved. I'll try your fix next time to see if that helps.

Different questions but similar,  Has anyone noticed that the cursor and viewport jump on occassion. A sudden 30-40 degree shift vertically while panning across the screen?

Seconded. I have tabs rearranging themselves, toolbar icons crowding together and losing the spaces between groups of tools. Normally a restart fixes the toolbar but I have to arrange the tabs myself.

I've also noticed lately that smoothing stops working for clothing and I have to switch to interactive to get it to start again (normally I have interactive smoothing off).

That last tidbit is a gem - would never have thought to go that way.
