Hi guys,
New guy here, I've done some game modding with 3Ds Max, Zbrush and Gimp but never touched this type of program before so I'm just trying to get started.
Anyways, I'm wondering what will be the best versatile and realistic character skin textures for generation 8 males and females.
Trying to just google best textures isn't giving me anything.

Molly is correct, the majority of skins in the store are pretty much the same resolution and detail. You just need to look for the PA that creates the characters that appeal to your tastes. Some of my quality goto PAs are Raiya, Mousso and Redzstudio.
Seeing as you mention game modding, please keep in mind that the items in the store are only developed for animations and renders. Sharing or selling any or any parts of any of the items in the store is against the EULA. You can purchase an interactive license to use most items in an original game, but modding is forbidden, license or not.
Agree, and I would add BlueJaunte Also, despite the figures being a bit "samey" to my eyes (very much just my opinion!), another artist that should be mentioned is isourcetextures
The new Anise skin by Morris is really nice as a standalone skin. Albany by Mousso is another skin I use a lot.
The more I look at the details of skins, the more I see that vendors can take very different approaches to building their skins. Some are depend a lot on lighting set-ups to look their best.
A skin can change a character dramatically. These are Anise and Albany skins respectively on Teen Josie 8.
