Trouble understanding transfer utility and saving content

Hello,

I've created some boots for Gen2 and I followed this tutorial to set them up in DAZ Studio (4.6.3.50 Pro): Basic Rigging with the Transfer Utility

The tutorial worked fine for a pair of Shoes I did a while ago, a long while ago (in a galaxy far, far away...), but not so for the boots.

I can't set a content type in the "Post Transfer Options". The only type I can select is "none". Did I miss something when I installed DAZ Studio, or why can't I select a content type? Is a content type necessary? Can I change it later? I didn't find a setting to do this.

The tutorial seems to be a bit out of date, so when I saved the boots (I ignored the content type) I chose "Wearable(s) Preset...". If I select anything else, like "Character Preset" or "Properties Preset", I seem to lose the morphs I've created. Not sure why and how.

When I saved the shoes I mentioned before, DAZ Studio created some folders in my content library (/data/{PRODUCTNAME}/Morphs/, /data/{PRODUCTNAME}/UVSets/, etc.), but not for the boots. I only get a folder in "/data/auto_adapted/". So I get the feeling, I messed up when I imported or saved the boots. Did I do something wrong there?

Thank you.

Az

Content Type is tied into the CMS, if it'd not running or can't "talk" to DS then you wont have access to any of the content types, but you don't need them for most things as it's just part of the crappy database system.

When rigging content for TriAx figures never make it's first save as a scene, subset or wearable, as that just dumps it's asset files into the melting pot that is the auto_adapted folder, always use "Save as > support asset > figure/prop asset".

If like me you don't use the CMS, then before you save always have the item conformed (fit to) to the figure it's meant for, then with just the item selected use "figure/prop asset", saved like this DS will create a "proper" wearable preset for you.

    Hi,

thank you. Now it works. :)

I have the habit to save the scene first, then start working. Didn't know DAZ Studio was so fickle. Poser doesn't care.

I just noticed, the UI of DAZ Studio isn't consistent. When I click the little plus-icon in the content library, I get all the Presets and two menus, "Script Based" (empty) and "Deprecated".
In the File-Menu "Save As...", I also get the Presets, but the two menus "Support Assets" and "Deprecated". Both menus look very similar, so I failed to see the difference.
