Camera Movements when ussing an HDRi

in The Commons
I am very new to using HDRi's and I was wondering if it is possible use a panning camera during an animation without the HDRi rotating in the background. For example if I have an HDRi of a theater stage and I want to pan the camera back and forth to follow a character on stage, is it possible to rotate the camera on the Y axis without the HDRi rotating and changing perspective behind the character?

The perspective will change when using an HDRI and panning no matter what. Maybe a backdrop is what your looking for? It won't be an HDRI, but it will not change at all as you pan the camera. Check out the Environment tab and load an image:
Also, you may want to check into the "Infinite Sphere w/Ground" and "Finite Sphere w/Ground" options for the Dome Mode for HDRI:
Among other things, this allows you to use DOF with HDRI and helps to "pin down" your 3D objects within the environment.
There are considerations and limitations about camera position when using HDRIs in this way. You may want to check out this thread for a little more info if interested:

Algovincian, Thanks for the information. I was pretty sure it was just wishful thinking on my part. I remembered that I had purchase Animation tricks by Dreamlight and he explained how to use a regular background plane to be able to get a bit of camera movement, and also using layers with Sony Vegas to combine the layers.
I'm not sure where to buy it though. I generally only use open sourse or free software since this is just a hobby, and the intrusive licensing requirements of most high end editing software. 2 of the techniques only require rendering background planes that can be done with DAZ itself. Still open to more info if it exists.
