Instance Brush

I wonder how hard it would be to create an instancing brush?
rather like the foliage brush in Unreal Engine or similar tools in programs such as Unity, Flowscape, Twinmotion, iClone Speedtrees, Vue to name a few.
basically a way to click and place, or paint instances on mesh in the scene interactivly

I would love to see this kind of thing, for instance as an Ultrascatter improvement.
You can use masks to control instance placement in UltraScatterPro. You can't directly paint a mask on a 3D terrain in Daz Studio, though. For fairly flat terrains, I have taken a screenshot of the Daz Studio Top View (orthogonal, not perspective) and painted a mask on that in Photoshop, then used that as a mask in UltraScatterPro.
You can also use the Geometry Editor tool in Daz Studio to select terrain polygons and create a selection set from the selected polygons. You can then limit the scatter in UltraScatterPro to that selection set.
yes know, I can do that in Carrara too
we have wanted the brush in Carrara too but DAZ is not developing that
since DAZ studio instances can be induvidually moved unlike Carrara replications I suspect it would be easier to impliment under the hood
