Relationship between daz camera and reflex lens

Is there a way to compare the daz studio camera with a real reflex camera?
I give an example. if I wanted to do a very tight portrait with a Reflex camera, I would use an 85mm lens and an f1.4, maximum f2.
I would have the eyes, nose and mouth out and it would begin to blur from the ears onwards.
if I put the same settings in the daz studio room it sucks, at least as regards the settings of F.
for the same result in daz, I have to use F22 or even beyond F35 / F40
If I had done that portrait with an Reflex, I would have used an 85mm and F1.4
what relationship exists between the daz studio camera and a reflex lens?
thank you

Hmmm.. I'd say you're going to need to wing it like the rest of us. There's no real-world lens/camera/sensor to DAZ conversion. Just the settings you see. You cannot select which brand/model of lens to place on the render engine. Therefore, it's difficult to replicate your exact situation.
If you can figure out the hyperfocal distance or range for your reflex lens then perhaps you could do some distance calcs in DAZ to estimate where the near and far depth-of-field boxes ought to be falling. Could this page help? http://www.outsight.com/hyperfocal.php
Don't forget to set the frame size and focal length -- that signifantly affects the field of view. Also, use a realistic aspect ratio: 1:1 for twin lens reflexes and 3:2 for 35mm single lens reflexes. Again, that significantly affects field of view. Often I use 35mm for frame size, 50 for focal length, but I forget to set the aspect ratio, and I get kind of a wide angle (horizontally) when using 9:16 for HD.
I had the same problems, but then found https://www.daz3d.com/ig-photographers-toolbox-35mm-cameras and use it every time I want or need DOF!
You should take a look at it. It behaves much like a real 35mm based camera. There are also other versions available. Also the display in the viewport is better than the original and you have additional controls like changing the F-Stop value in the viewport with a handel on the camera!
You can also see the resulting far and near plane for the DOF in the viewport as well!
