can you import a jpeg to daz?

Hey everyone! Quick question: can I import a jpeg, png, tiff, whatever to Daz? I saw you can import a backdrop but what I need is different. Basially I have a character holding a snake so I want to import the snake picture to place the model's arms accordingly :)

    You could create a primitive plane and apply your image to its surface.

    ... and use a white/black mask on the cut-out [or opacity].
