Update: Ok so on the second pic now, there is black in both of her eyesand a little black snakey line on the side of here face near her ear. I increased the hair to %102 but that didnt help anything. What the heck is this and how do I fix it?! Increasing forehead depth and width did not resolve this 2nd issue...

Hi, I looked through all my old posts bc I have had this issue before and inquired about here but I couldnt find it. If you look at the forehead, the hair is coming through and forming shapes on the skin. Why? And how do I stop or fix this?d I know I can fix in post but I want to understand the issue. It doesnt happen all the time and Im failing to see what the common thread is when its present vs when its not. It seems to only happen in some poses amd not others so idk, smh. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hiya!
That is the skullcap of the hair poking through the forehead. You can get this with unsupported morphs on the base figure. To correct it you can use a forehead expand morph if one is included in the hair or you can just scale the hair up to 100.1% and that should take care of it for you!

    Np glad it helped!

  • Just to add in case anybody else stumbles upon this thread, I get the exact same issue with any of the OOT hairstyles. To fix it just set the forehead depth and width to 5% and the issue goes away.

    Morning!
Ok the "snake" thing on the side is the sideburns of the hair's skull cap, the eye thing I'm not sure about though. Can you tell me which character/morphs/hair you are using and I'll if I can duplicate it?

For the eye distortion, assuming  this is an Iray render, in the render settings, if 'instancing optimisation' is set to auto, it may be worth changing it to memory. There's a glitch that sometimes makes the eyes render strangely.
If not that, then maybe look in the smooth shaded view to make sure that the hair cap isn't intersecting with your character.

You need to set it to Speed to fix the issue. As I understand it, optimising for memory means that it doesn't use as much memory... resulting in the eye textures not loading properly. Setting it to optimise for speed means it doesn't restrict its usage of GPU memory.

Ah okay. My bad. Thanks. Just remembered you had to change it from auto.
